RacingBrake.com Re-bedding procedure

When you switch brake pad compounds, we recommend cleaning the rotors with brake cleaner and fine steel wool to remove as much of the existing compound as possible. Brake cleaner can be purchased here or found at your local auto parts store.

You can then re-burnish the new pads following the same bed-in procedure. This can be a simple and straightforward process but the actual bed-in may take slightly longer than brand new rotors and pads due to the existing compound on the rotor.
